About the Sea Cadets
From the Sea Cadet National website: "The US Naval Sea Cadet Corps is comprised of two programs. The Navy League Cadet Corps (NLCC) is the junior program fro young people ages 11 through 13. The Naval Sea Cadet Corps (NSCC) is the senior program for young people ages 13 through 17. The NLCC and the NSCC programs are similar, but vary in that their training sessions to be age-appropriate."
About the Scorpion Squadron
The Scorpion Squadron has both NLCC and NSCC cadets. We are a group for young men and women that promotes teamwork, responsibility, respect, and leadership skills in a drug and gang free environment. Graduates of the Sea Cadets frequently choose a career serving in our country's Armed Forces, but this is NOT a requirement to join. The skills learned in this program are useful in any life path that our Cadets choose. If a cadet does choose the Armed Services, they have the opportunity to earn early advancement in the US Navy and Coast Guard (E-3 after boot camp).
Scorpion Squadron is a not-for-profit youth program that is 100% volunteer run with a wide range of experience, with volunteers from the Navy, Coast Guard, and the local community that have a commitment towards the training of tomorrow's leaders.
There is always room for more Cadets to join our ranks, and we are always looking for more adult volunteers with a will to lead and train.
